To manage the development, establishment and maintenance of trade channel and relationships to meet the needs of the business. This will include the delivery of revenue budgets and sales targets specific for the channel.
• Develop a sales strategy with the Sales team
• Implement the sales strategy at the designated route(s)
• Develop various commercial opportunities for the business
• Work closely with the relevant personnel responsible for pricing and marketing to maximise revenue generation for the business
• Analyse competitive and industry issues, identify long term sales strategies while staying focussed on a short term basis and tactically respond to various environmental and market changes.
• Manage partner companies such as travel agencies while monitoring and pushing efficiencies and performance.
• Deal with quantitative demand forecasting and pricing issues, understanding the business levers (pricing, marketing, distribution, promotions, sales, etc) and objectives and make daily decisions that will enable the business to maximise overall revenue.
• Motivate, harness and guide the efforts of a relatively small professional team towards focused objectives through strong leadership, clarity in articulating objectives and closely monitoring and supporting processes and outcomes.
• Prepare reports and presentations on sales matters as required.
• Ensure compliance with all safe working procedures and policy requirements.
• Liaison with external suppliers
• Able to provide feedback on market trends/developments and competitors' activities
Requirements:-
• Be highly motivated and able to provide innovative solutions and ideas for the airline.
• To be an enthusiastic individual that has a can do attitude and is prepared to get involved in all aspects of the sales operation.
• Possess excellent communication skills and negotiation skills. Fluent in English, Mandarin and ideally in Bahasa. Ability to speak other Asian languages will be highly regarded.
• Strong commercial acumen, able to lead, instituting various strategies followed with implementation that will involve intensive negotiations and team leadership.
• An ability to have a strong feel for the market will be crucial.
• Strong analytical skills, quick on his/her feet, are crucial for pricing and commercial negotiations parts of this role
• Strategic thinking skills are needed for business critical decisions in both the commercial and other business areas
• Strong team player, have high levels of energy and a personality and aptitude that will suit a fast growing, fast changing environment
• Able to develop and manage long term relationships with business partners
• Is IT Savvy
