sim card is NZ$5
what i would recommend when u arrive is topup $20 and buy the $19 value pack from the telco website for 100min local + unlimited sms + additional 500mb data. Otherwise calls are usually 50c/min, charged in 1 min blocks. not necessary if u aren't making calls at all
