*** SINGAPOREAN CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT ONLY! ***
I'm not going to entertain foreigners or agencies so please don't contact me if you're one of the two. Only local candidates directly.
I'm hiring a junior to intermediate level Unix SA for a major US financial services firm to work on a Unix operations team. We do level 1/2/3 support but not engineering (unless you have free time after all assigned work is done). That means you're not always stuck with a very simple/repetitive task but it is operations work so there's still quite a bit of it!
You're ideally a person with 3-5 years of experience, not a new graduate. You are willing to work shifts and weekends. Our shift hours are 6.30 - 15.30 and 13:00 - 22:00. This position will be for the 2nd (late) shift but it may alternate in the future every few weeks. Shift/work days are Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday. You don't work both weekend days except in very extreme/rare scenarios. No overtime, no graveyard shift. We don't force or encourage our people to stay longer at work unless they want to!
I'm the hiring manager, not a recruiter.
Technologies we use and expect you to know:
- RHEL 5/6 or 7 (must)
- NFS/autofs (must)

Singaporeans/PRs - this is your chance! We run a series of very technical interviews and if you know your stuff - you'll be short listed and possibly hired! No hands-on experience, or you're following other people's instructions to do your job - you won't make it past the first phone screen!
