---------------------------
Here's the story. I saw a thread of his, selling a z87 plus for a steal. Contacted him, but unfortunately it was sold. Instead, he offered me a z87 pro that he would receive in a couple of days. Price was good. Told me that the condition of the board was 9/10 and that he would give me 6 months of warranty. Agreed to it, set a timing and was on my way to collect.
I intended to only meet him at his nearest MRT as I was kind of in a rush. However, he texted me saying that he wasn't feeling well and I had to go to his place and collect it. Although inconvenient for me, I was already pretty close by so I went anyway. Once there, he started out by telling me how the top right side of the motherboard had chipped due to shipping. At this point, I was already pretty annoyed as I don't think a chip on the edge of the motherboard, preventing me from putting a screw through the standoff hole, justifies a 9/10 condition. This led me to think that that is why he wanted me to come all the way to his place to collect it..you know...typical sales tactic..cornering me..
Before anyone says I had the choice of declining it, yes, I had the choice. I was close to declining it, but I didn't because honestly, it wasn't really a BIG issue but I would have appreciated him actually informing me about it BEFORE I came, like any responsible seller should. To compensate me in regards to the crack, he offered me a 1 year warranty instead. Checked the box, the accessories and everything was fine other than the I/O shield, which was cut out by him. He told me he'll be getting a proper I/O shield within a week and I could collect it when he has it. Paid him, and left.
Came home and tested it, was working good until I faced some issues with one of the PCIE slots. Did my own tests before I could contact him to save him any trouble. Found out that that particular PCIE slot is probably a little faulty as my card was tested on another slot and worked fine, and also on another board. As I planned to get a second card in the near future, I actually really needed all of the PCIE slots to be functioning. Contacted him and he told me that he would be ordering another set, and allow him 10-15 days to get it. I didn't have a second card at that point, so the approximately 2 weeks of waiting time that he asked for was fine by me.
However, I came across a good deal here for a second card and purchased it first. Thinking that I wouldn't have to wait long to get a replacement for the board. To my surprise..this fella had stopped replying all my texts. Called him plenty of times (it was ringing) and yet he didn't answer. When I went to collect the board(the board I purchased from him, not the replacement board), he did tell me that he would be going overseas for a little while in September, so I wanted to try and get the replacement before he left. Checked his vr-zone last activity status and it showed that it was pretty recent. So how is this guy coming online, making threads and selling more stuff but not replying my texts or calls? He obviously does not honor his warranty and clearly only uses it as a trap to reel in buyers.
