Full Time: Assistant Programme Executive for a non-profit eldercare charity

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Corporate Communication and Community Engagement manager, the incumbent assists the Public Education and Volunteer Management executives in their day-to-day responsibilities in conducting public education events, managing volunteers who help out at our charity, and various other dementia-related activities in the eldercare sector.



This opportunity will appeal to people who have an affinity for helping the elderly, and who like networking with all levels of society to achieve ADA’s mission of helping society to tackle dementia.

Job Description

• Conduct public education talks on dementia to various sectors and age groups

• Represent the Association in various educational exhibitions, outreach events, collaboration projects and related work

• Assist in the coordination, orientation, training and management of volunteers for day-care and outreach activities

• Be comfortable with frequent duties on weekends (and claim days off in lieu during weekdays)

• Multitask across a range of activities under the purview of the Corporate Communication and Community Engagement department, including fund-raising, donor relationship management, corporate branding and public relations, and social media initiatives



Requirements

• Able to work on weekends and public holidays as required, or be comfortable with a Tuesday to Saturday work week (flexible depending on job needs)

• Must be effectively bilingual in English and Chinese and/or one other local dialects to match our client profiles

• At least two years' experience in public speaking/presentations

• Demonstrable social interaction skills for engaging people from all walks of life

• Good aptitude and affinity for working with elderly persons with disabilities

• Team-spirited and willing to multitask to achieve results as a department

• Conversant with Microsoft Office software for statistics reporting

The Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA) was formed in 1990 as a result of growing concern for the needs of people with dementia, and the needs of their families.



ADA is a Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO) and is a member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). ADA runs four New Horizon Centres (dementia day care), a Caregiver Support Centre, a Resource & Training Centre and various pilot projects to help persons with dementia and their caregivers.

Salary range: minimum $2500 or more depending on qualifications and aptitude
